On Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 June, the XXIII Workshop on Quality in Health was held in Zaragoza. These sessions are aimed at professionals interested in the development and promotion of healthcare quality projects within hospitals and health centers of the Aragon Health Service (SALUD), Spain.
This year's theme was "Do we innovate safely?" , with the goal of addressing both medical and digital challenges through various presentations and discussions.
The Innovation Unit of the Barbastro Healthcare Sector, representing SALUD and as a project partner, presented the HENKO Project, sharing progress and results to date during the communication sessions.
HENKO NET Project - Innovation and Digital Technologies for Social and Healthcare Palliative Care at Home
The presentation highlighted the active and collaborative work being carried out within the HENKO NET project. Its objective is to design a strategic framework and action plan to foster an innovative mindset among professionals, provide advanced training, promote the exchange of best practices in new care models, and facilitate the adoption of effective digital technologies in palliative care.
The following results were presented:
- The creation of a knowledge community in palliative care, with over 100 participants from Spain, France, and Portugal, involving all types of health and social care professionals.
- A state-of-the-art report on the use of technologies in palliative care.
- A comprehensive analysis of the patient care pathway in palliative services to identify both strengths and weaknesses within the process.
- The design of a strategic and sustainability plan for the knowledge community to improve palliative care, enhance professional capabilities, and strengthen the innovation capacity of healthcare organisations.
- The development of a strategic execution plan, currently in progress.
Throughout the event, multiple panels, lectures, and symposia were held, covering topics such as clinical safety, artificial intelligence, environmental sustainability, and the implementation of the One Health approach, among others.
With more than 600 professionals in attendance, the event was organised by the Aragon Health Service (SALUD), the Aragonese Institute of Health Sciences (IACS), the Aragonese Society for Healthcare Quality (SACA), the Spanish Foundation for Healthcare Quality (FECA), and the Government of Aragon.
We highly value these conferences as a positive and meaningful opportunity to showcase the efforts of teams working on innovation projects such as HENKO NET, developed under the Interreg Sudoe programme.
